کلینتون بنت

کلینتون بنت استاد بریتانیایی-آمریکایی مطالعات ادیان و فعال در گفتگوهای بین‌الادیان است که بطور تخصصی بر حوزه مواجهات اسلام و مسیحیت تمرکز دارد. او که بطور رسمی مقام کشیشی در کلیسای باپتیست‌ها را دارد سالها به فعالیت تبشیری در بنگلادش مشغول بوده است. بنت در دانشگاه‌های منچستر، بیرمنگام و آکسفورد تحصیل کرده است و هم‌اکنون به تدریس در دانشگاه ایالتی نیویورک (SUNY) در نیو پالتز اشتغال دارد. تلاش بنت بر ارائه یک فهم همدلانه از اسلام است و می‌کوشد تعریفی از اسلام ارائه دهد که ضمن حفظ اصول اعتقادات اسلامی با اعتقادات مسیحی ناسازگار نباشد. او مولف آثار فراوانی درباره اسلام و روابط اسلام و مسیحیت است. او مجموعه مقالاتی با عنوان کتاب همراه بلومزبری در مطالعات اسلامی (۲۰۱۳) را ویراستاری کرده است.
