ترسا برنهایمر

ترسا برنهایمر دکترای خود را در مرکز پژوهشی خلیلی در لندن کسب کرده است و هم‌اکنون پژوهشگر دانشگاه لودویگ-ماکسیمیلیان در شهر مونیخ آلمان است. علائق پژوهشی او شامل تاریخ اسلام از سال ۶۰۰ تا ۱۲۰۰ در مناطق مرکزی و شرقی اسلام، و خصوصا شکل‌گیری و زمینه‌مند شدن اسلام در دوران باستان متاخر است.

برنهایمر تحقیقاتی درباره تاریخ شیعه و ظهور خواص اسلامی، خصوصا اعقاب حضرت محمد یا علویان انجام داده است. او اخیرا به مسئله رنگ در تاریخ اسلام علاقه‌مند شده است و به تحقیق در تفاسیر دینی، تاریخ‌نگاری‌ها، و آثار علمی اسلامی در این زمینه مشغول است.

او کتاب علویان: اولین خاندان در جهان اسلام، ۷۵۰ تا ۱۲۰۰ میلادی (انتشارات دانشگاه ادینبرا، ۲۰۱۳) منتشر کرده است و همچنین مجموعه مقالات دوران باستان متاخر: چشم‌اندازهای شرقی (۲۰۱۲) را ویراستاری کرده است.
